Today i just happened to go through my Notes on Facebook which auto-imported from my old blog.
Came across this one, which was the first post from my first ever solo overseas travel (Brazil, 2008).
Almost every sentence put a smile on my face! I guess this is how travel blogging pays for itself 🙂

Haha.. wondering what happens when you don’t know local language in different country.

Nickolai – I really need to start writing more. Long story short though… i got my vaccine in Rio, instead of getting it before the trip in Mumbai. faster, completely free and i’d definitely trust the efficacy.
Tosh – as long as you can get by with English or basics of the local language, it’s not too bad. eg: i don’t know any Thai but basic phrases definitely help you connect with locals deeper.
