Foodies, Assemble! Mahalaxmi SARAS Mumbai Exhibition 2020

If you want to experience the best of rural Indian culture (especially Maharashtrian cuisine), please do yourself a big favor and head to the Mahalaxmi SARAS expo at MMRDA Grounds in BKC, Bandra East, Mumbai!

Back in 2014, on the morning of 31st of December, my aunt casually mentioned to me about this expo – and while most of my friends were looking forward to grand NYE plans, i was sold on the simplicity of getting to experience some authentic ‘gaavran‘ (rural cuisine) and handicrafts from across India under one roof, making it a melting pot of cultures and indigenous cuisines.

Ever since then, i’ve been looking forward to Saras every single year!

absolutely! definitely an event i will look forward to annually. did you finally go?

Is this started from 17 or 22nd ?? Lil confused.

hi Prashant. it’s starting from the 22nd – they revised the dates, hence there is some confusion around. but the good thing is that it’ll be now on till the 4th of Feb.

Visited fourth consecutive time and it is as fabulous as every year. Great food from all corners of Maharashtra, superb organic staples, clothes and variety of products. Just loved it.

We prefer bandra west near Lilavati hospital why you shifted to Bkc sir last when exhibition in bandra west we went 2-3 times with family n friends. So requesting you please keep in Bandra west.

i agree with you Sujata, but i am not associated with Mahalaxmi Saras in any way at all – i just genuinely love it and i miss the old location too. hope you do visit the fest and have a great time anyway 🙂

Hello… can anyone tell me till what time the exhibition is open… last year it was 10 am to 10 pm.

hi! though the timings remain the same, i’d recommend reaching as earliest you can in the evening, as stalls exhaust supplies towards the end of the day. it would also be most crowded on weekends and post 8:30 pm, so try to reach before that to make the most of it.

Very nice Article. Awesome pictures 🙂
