This weekend, i had the honor and privilege to attend the launch of the newest tourism brand in India: Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai.
The Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (DDDNH) have embarked on a vision of promoting themselves as activity-filled, world class tourist destinations through a network of projects aimed at promoting infrastructure to attract tourists from India and across the world.
A new tourism brand logo common for both the Union Territories was unveiled during the week:
Built around the tagline of ‘Small is Big’, the logo encapsulates the core appeal of the Union Territories – while they are small dots on the map, they have so much more to offer in the form of culture, heritage, wildlife, architecture and natural wonders.
The unveiling of the logo was followed by a magnificent, immersive experience in which we went on a virtual tour of the regions in our bus.
I must say this was one of the most beautiful virtual reality shows i’ve seen – EVER. Kudos to Ogilvy for the execution on this!
Ogilvy and Mather, who have designed the logo are also the agency that will manage the advertising and digital campaign for DDDNH.
Some of the plans to enhance tourism in the regions include:
- Upgradation of tourism spots, beaches, gardens, churches
- Restoration and conservation of monuments and the Moti Daman Fort,
- Heritage walkway at Diu
- Setting up of a National Oceanarium at Diu and a Bird Park at Daman
- + adding some new tourist attractions to the existing ones.
