Gringo Says Go: Thalassa, Goa

If i were to pick ONE single restaurant in all of Goa, Thalassa would have to be it.   From the very first time i discovered it in 2010, i fell i love with this authentic Greek gastronomic + cultural delight. The brainchild of the very affable self-made chef and hotelier Mariketty Grana, Thalassa started as a humble little stall at the famous Saturday Nite Market in North Goa, 8 years ago. Mariketty came to Goa as a kid and like anyone who’s a regular, soon got enamored by it’s warmth and beauty and decided to stay back. Initially she would sell her delectable rolls at the flea market and at a small shop in Chapora, “Mariketty’s”. As word and the aroma of her cooking spread, she expanded and moved to the cliffside seafront of Vagator’s Ozran (Vazrant) beach. Coming from a family with a hospitality background, it took her no time to increase production and efficiency, while retaining her signature warmth and ‘Greek village’ ambiance.
